Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) 18 1/16 -1/4: Lehman Brothers
lowers estimates on chip maker due to pricing pressures in the
chip sector; widens Q2 loss from $0.28 to $0.38 a share; widens
FY98 loss from $0.50 to $0.85 a share and lowers 1999 EPS estimate
from net $1.45 to $1.15 a share; continues to rate issue "Hold".

AMD
93 94 95 96 97 98
Mar $0.60 $0.81 $0.91 $0.07 $0.09 -$0.39a
Jun $0.63 $0.89 $0.86 -$0.33 $0.07 -$0.38e
Sep $0.60 $0.83 $0.52 -$0.25 -$0.22 -$0.08e
Dec $0.41 $0.73 $0.52 -$0.15 -$0.09 $0.00e

Year $2.24 $3.26 $2.81 -$0.66 -$0.15 -$0.85e
Yr./Yr. n/a 45.5% -13.8% -123.5% -77.3% -146.6%e

AMD had 6 negative earning reports in last 8 quarters, and will
have a whopping 6 (possible 7) straight loosing quarters by the
end of this year.

AMD's FY98 will be the worst year ever: it will report record loss
of -$0.85/share.

What a good investment!

Cheers,
