The following additonal information has been brought to my attention by a "freind " familiar with the Bingo scene in Tx.
Th two halls that recently agreed to utilize Trend ( GMTC)
equipment did NOT sign the usual long term contract. As a matter of fact
it is my understanding that the halls may cancel at any time. Further
they are only paying 20% of revenues. The number of units provided to
these halls is substantially in excess of the number of units previously in operation which were utilized about 85% of the time. If his data is reasonably correct it would appear that of the 75 units installed only about 50-55 units are really needed. It would seem that since units placed is a key criterior (past and present) in judging how great a company is doing etc. etc. it does not in reality tell the true story. If one were to be cynical re UNDER UTILIZATION
it could in turn trigger thoughts like " salting a mine ". There is an alternative concept that might explain this type of occurance an that
is that the extra units can also be used for "spares". While this minimizes down time for the hall operators they should not be considered as units placed in the in the same context as are the units
which fall within the 80-85 % utiliztion band.
Consequently I find that if this factor IS NOT factored into the equation a fair and accurate assessment of what'S GOING ON is NOT being given to those who have the right to get " ALL THE FACTS" so they can judge what the future really holds for a given situation.
Assuming the above is indeed representitive what conclusions would you draw???????
The extent to which this practice is employed by the industry participants could be seriously viewed by certain authorities who regulate PUBLIC COMPANIES.
