I can't see a $40 offer causing a squeeze (in fact I'd
be a little pissed if they accepted one). Short position
as of 4/97 was approx 3.5 MM and as of 10/97 was down
to 2.5 MM & in that time frame the stock price went
from the low 20's to more than double that (albeit
for a brief moment in time). That gives some semblence of
type of ride in store if investor sentiment ever changes.
The wishy washy analyst recommendations I've seen posted lately
on this thread all but reinforce the negative sentiment.
When these guys get off the fence and take the splinters
out of their backsides is when the stock will fly. But
then again they could be short too!
