Alex; Re > extended metaphor. << yes that's the way to describe Moby Dick. I also see that in some Science Fiction , like in Star Trek before Gene Rodenberry died. He also took on contemporary issues and placed them in a futuristic setting. In a way that made them palatable to a wide audience many of who would have been offended had he done it in a historic setting. Jim
