Harve, I've recently decided to forego buying a Pentium II-233 and get a K6-2 300. I talked to a local reseller here in Dallas on Saturday, and they've already sold all their first wave of K6-2's. He was expecting more in this week, and I could've ordered mine then if I wanted. So they are out there...

The salesman I talked to said the demand among their customers is huge for K6-2's right now. This is a reseller who sells a lot of AMD-based systems anyway, so they're no doubt not representative of the market in general, but still, their business has been brisk since the chip was released. In fact, he wondered if the spot price of the chip might rise this week because of the high demand and tight supply (I haven't checked to see if there's been any change today, and I'd personally be surprised to see that happen right now.)

Anyway, unless he was absolutely blowing smoke at me, which I didn't get the impression he was doing, the chips and boards with 100 mhz bus are there, if you can find the right reseller.

Sam
