For every right wing mercenary there is a left wing mercenary. What is the purpose of either? To make things fair. They take it on themselves to do good things for others. They kill people in their zeal to do good. They say it's ok to kill bad people and only they know who's bad. What comes from all of this good activity? Who benefits? In the final analysis humans blame God for evil. It is true that only God is the doer, but all these people are far, far away from understanding what that means as they are far, far away from doing any good.

You like the idea that someone is going to take care of you. It is a little like being a kid and having mommy provide. My brother who belongs to a union has the attitude that he doesn't care what goes on as long as he gets his. That means he wants more than what he deserves simply because someone told him that he deserves more. That someone else has the ulterior motive of assembling an ugly mob and using mob power to steal from the helpless in the name of getting their fair share. Unions never look at their inflationary settlements in that light. They don't think of the fact that they are stealing the money mostly from the poor. They choose to see it as stealing from the rich corporations and that's ok in their book. Why doesn't the laboring man buy out the corporations for whom they work over long periods of time? Then the workers own the means of production and the wealth that there lies. They could do it through Employee Stock Option Programs, ESOP, but they don't want that. They don't want the risk that they might run the operation into the ground and bust themselves. So they turn over their birthrights for a pot of beans to managers who can't do any better than they could. The price of security is the war between the haves and the have nots.

The last people on earth who want an ESOP are unions. They don't go to work to share the risk, they just want to be taken care of. And when they are taken care of, they have to pay the protection money. That keeps you broke. You have to share in the risk if you want to share in the return. If you don't understand that, you might well be a member of the ugly mob. Your time is coming, your attitude will be in flower. When the dust settles it will be you who gets it again in the neck. What we will all hear is, "and there's never anything left over for the little guy". Now you know why there is a little guy. It's a matter of free choice.
