Virtual Resolution.... Matrox Millenium II

Some of the Number Nine video cards are bundled with the Hawkeye utility. If you have limited desk space or are on a budget this is a viable alternative. You get the same amount of screen real estate as you would with about three monitors, you just do not see it all at once.

I set up a couple of new Compaq's today ( I won't go into how much trouble it was converting them to Win95). My advice, stay with non proprietary machines.

The video cards are Matrox Millenium II AGP with 8 MB RAM and supportVirtual Resolution in Win95. I do not know if they support virtual resolution in NT.

Virtual resolution takes a little getting used too. It is not a good idea for some people, I really like it and think it would be great for web surfing. I usually have a dozen or so browsers open but keep them minimized at the bottom of the screen. I would prefer to keep four open on the desktop, saving on minimizing. I do not have virtual resolution on my web surfer yet Great for cut and paste operations between applications. It would also be good for reading long posts.

You have to know your software. Some people have trouble with dialog boxes opening off the visible screen. For example if you want to delete a file in Explorer there is a dialog box that wants you to confirm. You have to know it popped up in order to look for it.(or just push enter)
