Here is a copy of an email I just sent to Worden Brothers:

Dear Worden Brothers,

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the fact that Worden Brothers decided to change the database for the new tc2000 to add "bogus" data for holidays. This kind of thing makes it impossible to use this data with any other program, as all TA calculations will be thrown off by this fake data. Furthermore, I am a software developer and have been writing a program that uses the tc2000 database as a source; the above change to the database means v4 data will not be compatible with my programs.
Unless this is changed, there is no way I can "upgrade" to v4 (I am a tcpro user now), and unfortunately, since this is the direction that tc2000 is going, I will also have to start looking for another vender to migrate to asap.

I know I am not alone in my opinions. You might want to check out the group on SI (Silicon Investor) dedicated to TC2000 -- many people there are not happy that the new tc2000 has changed in these and other significant ways (for example, less flexible scanning capabilities).

Here is the URL if you would like to take a look:

I have been a satisfied worden customer up until now, but this new version of tc2000 leaves me completely baffled. One of the most important things in creating upgrades is to remain compatible with the prior version so as not to alienate your existing customer base. You should not make it more difficult for loyal customers to use your new product. I hope Worden Brothers will seriously consider making some changes to v4 ASAP.

Sincerely,
David Hafken
