But AMD's losses are WAY UP.

That's the same kind of sentiment that you chastize people for on the AMD and Cyrix threads except it's usually "Intel's profits are way down".

On one hand you get frustrated by the die hard fans and call them idiots, and yet you go and post something like that. Make up your mind here Paul. If it's okay to have that attitude (which I am assuming based on your statement you now condone) I don't expect to see you going on and on about how investing is for $$.

BTW:

Intel and the chip sector in general brought this on themselves. I am sure that if Intel (grove/barette (sp)) were to look back they would not have done anything so dramatic. Given the fact that AMD and Cyrix can't make more more than 10% of the needed chips by the industry, we would have been a whole lot better off than where we are now. All three companies would be making tidy profits and Intel would be at about $150-$200 a share right now (although it would have split).

But hindsight is always 20-20 (although this _wasn't_ hard to see coming).
