Hope you all don't mind a newbie type question. I am trying to make a floppy boot disk with the idea of doing a clean install of win98.

I need to have access to my cd-rom from DOS. I have added the appropriate statements and drivers to both autoexec.bat and config.sys. I have put all the drivers on the floppy.

My problem is that I get the statement that my cd-rom driver is loaded when I boot, but I can't get it to work. In win95, my cd-rom drive letter is M. (I have two hard drives with 2 partitions on one and 8 on the other). But when I do a dir on that drive, it says unrecognized drive and nothing happens.

On the other hand, if it is possible to clean up my system/registry automatically when I install win98, I won't have to worry about this. Anyone know?

Thanks is advance.

Pete
