Techie,
Finally someone who noticed the change. I invest in Intel and Compaq rather than Dell. Over the past year, I watched Dell really shine. NOW however I am watching Dell change their strategy. MD is openly bashing the competition. They are selling the sub 1000 computers. They are talking about giving up profits in server market. I ask myself why would MD change so much in a short period of time. I think the answer is in the stock price. I'm sure I'll get flack but at least consider Dell is changing their game plan and ask yourself why.

I'm not crazy enough to say Compaq is leading but I will remind Dellionares that Compaq said they wanted to lower inventory channel which they did. They wanted to focus on two tiers of business: one being the sub 1000 market and the other being the server market. Did ya'll forget the huge GM contract? Expect Compaq to go after many other large contracts once the DEC deal is done.
