My Private Message to Peter - in case anyone is interested

It was written early this morning - so it may not be that fluid.

OK so I guess that you're not Brent Mudry. If your real name is Peter then that's what I'll call you.

So Peter, what was the last week's worth of posts all about? Obviously this is not the way to win support or online friends - who can help you with your investments. You offended a lot of people - me included.

I am very new to this game - just another stiff trying to ensure that I have a worry free retirement - and not be a burden to anyone. Who knows what government assistance will be available when I retire - or when you do? I'm counting on zippo. However, if I save my money and invest it - and LEARN HOW TO invest - I should be OK. You too.

Yes - we are excited about this stock. We are VERY VERY proud of it - it's world class, world leading Canadian technology - why shouldn't we be proud of it?

From your response to Gino - you say that you're a soldier - great - very honourable profession. You must be proud to wear the uniform of Canada - right! We'll we are proud to sing the praises of this Canadian technology on this US web site. Nice to stick it to them every so often!!

Your posts were not 'healthy', they were not funny, and yes - everything you said was personal, and at times nasty and unwelcome. Yes - some are here for greed (you say to Gino that you need to keep that in check - OK - but this isn't the way - go to the Berkshire Hathaway A (symbol: BRKA) site on Yahoo - I don't know if they have a thread here on SI - their shares are running at something like $US70,000!! You want to find rich greedy people - that's where you'll find them - not here amongst the penny stocks. Most of us are just average folks - I'm not rich - you want to take on my bills for me? I am one of many who have realized over the last few years that when it comes to retirement - we will most likely be on our own.

Why am I here - well I'm just as scared as a lot of other folks who feel that they will not have enough to retire on when the time comes. Savings accounts aren't going to do it, nor are GIC's, mutual funds - maybe, the best growth vehicle is stocks. That's why we have researched this one to death - as we have - and for us - we have a lot tied up in it. When the time comes, we'll move onto another one.

Why begrudge us a happy, worry-free retirement. The only way that's going to happen is to help ourselves to build a nest egg. You can bet that our Canada Pension Plan contributions that we all make will likely go elsewhere and be wasted by stupid government officials on worthless projects - that don't help anyone. However, if we are fortunate and build a good size nest egg - then we can pass along some of our investments to others more needy - we won't need it all. Do you think the government can be counted on to do that? How many homeless people do you see on the streets, how many young folks without jobs, how much despair in too many people?

This is not meant to be a lecture. Yes I called you 'insane' in my last post - because that's how you come across. If you haven't read anything on investing - then get a copy of Peter Chilton's "Wealthy Barber" - it's a great start.

The posts that you have made are permanent here on SI - you're leaving a very poor paper trail that others will follow as you move onto other stocks.

What I would do - is start all over again. Ask SI if you can change your alias from Peter Joseph to something else. Come back to us and start all over again - but lighten up on the tone of the posts - OK!

Tomorrow is a big day for this tiny Canadian company. There's likely to be a Trading Halt to the stock (means that you can't buy/sell) which happens when there's going to be a big news announcment(s). We are hoping for some big things - afterwhich Napier will become a recognized world leader in its field. Please don't spoil it for us - OK. Some folks are going to be very excited - which will be reflected in their posts - just take them at face value - they're just excited - let them enjoy it while it lasts.

Good luck to you Peter - and think about it.

David :-)
