Orckit Demonstrates Live DSL Solutions at Supercomm '98
State-of-the-Art DSL in Joint Demos Around the Show
ATLANTA, June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Showcasing a complete array of DSL solutions, Orckit Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: ORCTF - news) will demonstrate DSL at work in the real world at their booth (No. 5406) and at multiple locations throughout Supercomm, to be held June 9-11 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
Orckit will demonstrate applications such as on-line shopping, video conferencing and interactive video services, utilizing Orckit's FastInternet ADSL, SDSL, and CopperTrunk VDSL systems . Orckit's CopperTrunk E1 HDSL product family, proven and deployed in more than 35 countries, will also be demonstrated.
''We are demonstrating how DSL can enhance the daily lives of a typical family today,'' said Jim Szeliga, General Manager of Orckit Communications in the USA. ''Together with Siecor, we will also show just how easy it is to install a splitter on the outside of a home, with a hands on presentation.''
Siecor Operations will also display at their booth (No. 7539) the entire new range of DSL POTS Splitter solutions, developed in conjunction with Orckit, that ease the wiring issues at both the CO and customer premises when deploying splittered DSL services.
Fluke Corporation, a leader in products for the installation and maintenance of communications networks (Booth No. 1851), will be demonstrating Orckit's ADSL as part of their display of the latest tools for wide-scale provisioning and deployment of DSL services.
Fujitsu Network Communications will demonstrate a live end-to-end ATM over ADSL connection into their Fujitsu booth (Booth No. 6513) using the SPEEDPORT DSLAM system, developed jointly with Orckit, and recently selected by GTE for the world's largest planned ADSL deployment. SPEEDPORT will also be featured in the ''Super Neighborhood'' which is being sponsored by Bell South.
Orckit first demonstrated Splitterless ADSL jointly with Fujitsu at ComNet in Washington DC in January, and will include a demonstration at Supercomm. Orckit is a contributing member of the Universal ADSL Working Group, founded by, Compaq, Intel and Microsoft and leading telecom operators
