Well doc I think forward P/E's are mostly analyst's bull...the average
analyst is right 30-33% of the time and even when there is a consensus
among analysts they are wrong over 60% of the time, not much to hang
your hat on. What I like to do with P/E's is check the trailing and
then check out whether or not the company can sustain its existing
earnings and try to extrapolate forward from sales predictions for the
industry and for the company based on its historic growth rate in the
event it has spent enough on R&D and isn't getting blindsided by new
technology. Take Ciena for example...went absolutely ape...then hit
some hard times due to competition...but R&D has pulled them out and
they are getting strong again...back to the future so to speak.

Imbedded chips are in practically every appliance, vehicle and power
anything we buy these days, and are working their way into all sorts
of places...for example, the chip in your front bumper read by the toll
taking station that bills your credit card for your bridge or highway
tolls used to cost over $50...it's now under $3. Imbedded chips range
in price from $.015 to $60 depending on function. They come in read
only, receive only, send only, etc. Send and receive chips have some
marvelous capabilities. Micron Electronics is a leader in high end
chips in this industry. Some communicate via radio frequencies with
GPS systems and the like, very trick stuff, and catching on fast.
