Paul,

Sounds like a good chip, doesn't it?

I have no problems with Intel's chips.. I don't know how many times I have said that. I have a problem with some of Intel's corporate beliefs. I use Intel processors and work (and others) and I use Cyrix at home. Why because I use the right chip for the right environment.

I wouldn't use Cyrix or AMD to run complex elctro-magnetic simulation tools. I use dual PPros or PA-RISC 8200's. For netscape I use Cyrix or AMD. Or word I use Cyrix or AMD. It's not really that hard to figure out ;-)..

Anyway I would like to see Intel bring out a "good" chip. One that might restore the "exponential" performance improvement between generations and illiminate the "incremental" improvements. The fact the new generations of chips are only marginally faster than their forebears is one of the reasons for the PC industry. If it's only 10% faster my "impulse" to buy is much lower than if it is 50% faster.

Steve
