La Plata JV drilling resumed Zappa Resources Ltd ZPA Shares issued 23,569,790 Jun 5 close $0.18 Tue 9 Jun 98 News Release Mr. Albert Gerry reports Cambior, the company's joint venture partner, has resumed drilling on its massive sulphide project, La Plata, in central Ecuador. The drilling which started in April was delayed due to extremely heavy tropical rains that washed out the roads leading to the company's drilling target area. The drilling program will be staged and is designed to test the extent of the known rich horizon as previously reported in the company's March 6, 1998 news release. The step out holes will be 50 metres apart and along strike starting just south of hole No. 20 which ran 16m of 11 g/t gold, 79 g/t silver, 7.7 per cent copper and 2.9 per cent zinc. The company has granted Ecuadorian Minerals of Scottsdale, Arizona, a 30-day extension, until July 17, 1998, on the due diligence period regarding the proposed sale of the company's Ponce Enriquez gold properties as the company previously announced in its April 20, 1998 news release. The additional time is required to complete the documentation of the agreements between all the principals and third parties involved. The company has appointed Kelvin Dushnisky to the board of directors. Mr. Dushnisky is currently the president and director of International Vestor Resources, senior vice president and director of Redfern Resources and vice president, regulatory affairs of Sutton Resources.
