Jane, So good to see you, I recall you from Brush Creek which has carried or sunk my canoe at different times. I wish you the best of luck with this thread but it surprises me not that in such a merciless business as stock trading there are so many without any experience chatting with God. For some reason they think nothing of talking over the net to all sorts of people who they have never seen or have no proof that they really exist but will not allow God the same token of belief unless it is totally according to the Law They lay down. Of course if these same folks talk to themselves, they are talking to their God now aren't they?? It seems they think it is bad business to mix God and prophet (yeah yeah, I know - PROFIT). Like they believe it is a sin to make a dollar; nevertheless they each and every day set out in the markets to be the worlds biggest "sinners" <VBG>. Some of the best God fearing people recorded in scripture were wealthy and good at making some money, Abraham, Jacob. Matter of fact those two had some divine help, not to say that is a common thing. Those who ask for help I believe receive it, but this may not include riches (alas). In short there is not sin in making money unless one is crooked or criminal, ruthless or heartless, merciless or(gee, I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes here HAHA) Probably there is a denomination of stock players somewhere who are convinced that a Market Maker cannot enter heaven or be a good christian (or a good anything?)<VBG>. Generally, I do not mix my beliefs and stock/options trading as each one is complex enough by itself. Nor do hope and faith seem to find a place on the ticker. We may trade their stock in life, but it is not accepted specie on Wall Street. Yet to dedicate a little corner of SI to some light hearted yet earnest dialogue about God the Father seems little to ask. Like the chaplain saying a prayer before Congress, they ought to tolerate talk about the God from whom all their wealth has sprung. At least acknowledging the part religion played in the creation of this great nation. And if they do not care to acknowledge it fine, just leave us alone, they will get their own acknowledgement after Y2K. BTW Jane, it is written quite plainly that the creation groans (in pain) awaiting the redemption....that was near 2k years ago in what we would consider pristine environmental conditions. I imagine the agonal screams of creation are reaching heaven right now. Well, this did not turn out as lighthearted as I intended. This is also guaranteed not to add any weight to anyone's purse tomorrow, yet I hope it may help someone to a prize beyond price....that conversation your header alludes to... And if I have offended any.......talk to my POP.
