Copper Zone Extended to Width
DDH LD98-03 at the Little Deer project in Springdale, Newfoundland, has returned significant assays as follows:
3.07% copper from 434.7 to 447.6 metres (12.9m).
The zone of volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralization has been confirmed by diamond drilling over a vertical distance in excess of 230m from LD67-135 to LD98-03 as previously reported.
Hole HLD67-135, 5m est.true width, 144m vertical depth, 7.6m of ~5% cu Hole LD98-01, 22m est.true width, 179 vertical depth, 9.4m of 1.52% cu and 21.8m of .79% cu Hole LD98-02, 48m est.true width, 290m vert. depth, 13.2m of 1.96% cu Hole LD98-03, 50m est.true width, 375m vert depth, 12.9m of 3.07% cu Hole LD98-04 in progress
The exploration effort to date has concentrated on tracing the down plunge extension of copper mineralization coincident with a 1.5 kilometre pulse electromagnetic conductor that extends southwest from the Little Deer deposit.
The company's geologist is encouraged that the estimated true width of the zone has increased from 5m to 50m wide over a vertical distance of over 230m. The zone is open-ended.
Each drill hole is being systematically surveyed by the down-hole pulse electromagnetic method. The PEM results from LD98-03 indicate a strengthening of the zone along strike to the west and this continuity will be tested soon. |
