About SW Air .... or any airline stock for that matter.

I remember seeing Warren Buffet speak about investment choices at a seminar a few years ago, and someone asked him about his view on a major air carrier. Buffet had put some money in US Air (I think) and had lost a bundle. He said that gave him reason to re-examine his reasons for getting in in the first place. The one thing that really caught his eye was, that the airline industry as a whole, an industry that has been around more than 90 years, has yet to turn a profit, meaning,...paid-in capital exceeds net profits. He said he would never invest in an airline stock again.
Now I never bothered to go and check out if any/all of this is true, but if Warren Buffet tells me that a cow is about ready to lay an egg...I just go and get a skillet.
