SUNW doesn't need to "cheat" & they don't.

Here's the third party documentation (and Sun's sideways admission in the Inforworld article) that verifies Sun's cheating on the Java benchmarks. The interesting thing is that Sun made a lot of noise before they were caught about how Solaris was the best Java platform. The glory was pretty short lived.

In fact, I believe that they probably aren't cheating on the Domino benchmark. The problem is that since it is not a standardized test, the results will depend on Lotus' optimization of their software for each platform as much as the performance potential in each OS/CPU itself.

I don't think we're going to forget the high end market. It'll be interesting to see how things unfold.
