This is a commitment? Compaq announced that they will include Zip in only the most expensive 7 of their total 13 Presario models, and the same day announced that SyQuest's Sparq will be an option as well.

First off, since when is the most expensive 7 out of 13 models a "Standard?"-- And further more the option still exists to select the Zip drive OFF the option list. Note that the floppy drive and CD-Rom drive remain STANDARD devices on each and every model. Zip has replaced NOTHING as "Standard."

Plus, what does this announcement have anything to do with Iomega scoring a profit? It doesn't. Iomega's retail Zip sales continue to slacken, and OEM sales only bring down margins and tie ratios.

Vapor! is DOA, and will only sell to a few Iomega investors and fewer tech-heads. Then....nothing, nada, zilch. Vapor! product returns and complaints about faulty drives and corrupted discs will further embarrass an already tarnished Iomega.
