TA I have a feeling these pts were taking say HTN,COPD, maybe NIDDM meds aspirin, diuretics and other multitudes of meds which a number of elderly pts take quite often. It is interesting that none of those meds were suspected. Studies by the American Heart Association have shown that the normal death rate among men with cardiovascular disease is 185-275 cases per million men in any given month, whether they take Viagra or not. As things go, Viagra is here to stay, hopefully to be used judiciously, cautiously and with appropriate medical indication. 1.5million scripts with 16 deaths (currently believed NOT to be Viagra related) probably won't cause a recall.
