I'm saddened by your disillusionment with Nokia. But Nokia is only stating what every other source I'm familiar with concurs with: GSM is an open standard. Qualcomm's CDMA is a fueled by greed and short-sightedness. I know that there are people here claiming that GSM is as expensive for companies as CDMA and I can only say that this flies against everything I've ever learned about GSM. Complete misinformation.
As far as Korea is concerned, I think you remember how I predicted Korea's rapid conversion to W-CDMA six months ago. This was widely reported in Europe back then even though no US sources carried the story. It's another example how narrowly and prejudiciously Americans are covering the W-CDMA issue. Remember how everyone referred to W-CDMA as "vaporware" when I tried to discuss the issue? And now Qualcomm seems to be clawing at straws just to get a piece of it.
Now Japan, Korea and all of Europe are publicly backing W-CDMA and pissed off at Qualcomm. Is Irwin's tactical genius still undisputed?

regards,
Tero
