Tobacco Bill:

This bill is still in big trouble. Democrats had no choice but to concede to vote on Republican amendments to the McCain bill, or otherwise it was "dead in the water". I continue to see further hurdles and additional amendments to prevent passage of anything substantial here. Moreover, the House leadership is extremely opposed to what is going on in the Senate. Bottom line: the chances of this bill blowing up and nothing getting accomplished is still very high. Keep in mind that there is a decisive trial going on down South concerning advertising/marketing restrictions and FDA regulation of Nicotine. The new judge is a staunch conservative. Legislators are quite scared as to the possible positive outcome for the tobacco industry. A return to the June 20 agreement is closer than one thinks here. I'm still extremely bullish on MO and continue to see a major summer rally. I own so many shares of MO, I can fill a few trucks with them. Good to be in the Black ( for a change ) with that dividend coming up. The worst is behind us here.
