You gotta love those Ficht reports!

This is why I believe in Orbital. Their system is better. Just wait until word becomes widespread (not just among Ficht owners) that these motors are unreliable. What a mess Polaris, Kawasaki and Tigershark may have gotten themselves into. As an inland boater, I don't face this life threatening situation (a breakdown 40 miles offshore), but this is huge. Another item I wanted to reiterate is that the tremendous fuel pressure being used to run Ficht is a real hazard if people start tinkering with their PWC's. And tinkering with PWC's is way common. Unlike an outboard, those engines are in an enclosed compartment. If there's a fuel leak (the higher the pressure, the more likely the leak), we're talking explosions from the ignition system. Now that's scary. Yes, it appears the OptiMax vs. Ficht confrontation may finally be starting to form. I'm looking forward to it. The question is, will Ficht destroy the reputation of DFI in general, causing people to hang on to their old motors as long as possible (and not even buy an OptiMax motor)?

You're right, I need to call Roberta Saling myself. I'll probably be a little more tenacious than those who've called her lately....
