Hi Fred, I am quite sure that the rebates from Kodak & Duracell will mostly affect their profit margins, not Pixar's nor Disney's. Disney is very adept at using others to boost their sales, and not being the one to lay out for the gig...surely, they are absorbing some of the rebate costs, but realize that it is Disney who will foot this bill, not Pixar. I may be wrong, but IMO, Kodak & Duracell were given the HONOR of marketing under Disney & Pixar's glory, and even though they baited consumers with the rebate, they will stand to increase their own revenues considerably by simply joining in on the Toy Story bandwagon. Disney's cut in the profits due to these rebates will not be significant, I believe. I will follow my hunch up with a contact to the company, and will post here the results (even if I'm dead wrong!).
In the meantime, I plan to buy some more PIXR at these levels, as I do not believe that they will sink back to the $12-13 level unless the market does undergo a big correction soon. Even so, if PIXR slumps below this $15 level of support, I will simply buy more. In the long run, a basis of $15-17 should still be good for a couple of points at least after Q4 results are announced. Note Q3 results having been much higher than anticipated. Then, with BUGS in active production, there will be more good runs on the stock in the future. Anyway, good luck to us all, regardless of our strategies! Fred, Zig - come on...Woody or Buzz? Indulge me. Thanks, Vicki
