All, I can't wait for the EBT program to take over the
food stamp program.
One thing that used to really burn me up was that while
in the grocery check out line, I would watch people purchase
a package of lunch meat and only have a ten dollar food
stamp coupon left in their book. Well of course they
received around $8 in change with which to return to
the check out line with a second purchase which was beer
and cigarettes and pay for them with the $8 change.
This was cheating the legit tax payer, right? RIGHT!!
Well the gov't changed things to where they would receive
their change in smaller food stamp coupons with only less
than $1 in money. Well this just meant they had to go
through the process several times to get enough for their
beer and cig's.
Not to mention all the coupon printing, paper work and
accountability by the stores and government.
So now with the EBT coming these purchases will deduct
the actual amount from the recipients food stamp allotment.
No change for other purchases. No selling of coupons to
others to get money for disallowed purchases.
And this is just one of the gov't programs that will be
on EBT by the gov't.
And IMO, CLCK with partner FISCRIP should be able to fit
right into this area.
