Real road conditions mean the valve will be fully functional on rail cars travelling around North America for either a 1 or 2 year period. They must travel a minimum of 5000 miles and as such may be in the cold of Alaska one day or the high temperatures of Texas another. The 1 year test is for tests on non-hazardous content tank cars and the additional year is for tank cars containing hazardous contents. Once year 1 is completed, Kelso can start selling its valves to rail tank car manufacturers and operators. Trust this is useful. Thanks for your interest.
