[ Been thinking... ]

Does anyone find it interesting that 3COM has announced interoperability agreements with just about everyone BUT Westell? 3COM has bigger competitors to worry about.. {CISCO, ALA, Nortel, etc}, but they haven't announced interoperability with Westell. My gut feel, 3COM will purchase Westell. I find it interesting that Westell has been working with LU for over a year but their name isn't part of the LU/3COM ADSL draft spec. Lets see... 3COM/LU have been working together for the AnyMedia platform and Westell has been creating line cards for the SLC-5, SLC-2000 and 5ESS. Doesn't seem to be much overlap. Westell is setting up an Interoperability Lab, but Westell hasn't announced any interoperability agreements yet... not even Efficient Networks. We have 3COM announcing all these agreements, wasn't Westell going to do that? 3COM has used TI for most of their chips, but switched to the ADI solution for ADSL... look for them to switch back. Sorry, Westell is already working with TI for ADSL. 3COM/Westell will continue to use TI and Westell gets access to ADI. How far is Westell's building from 3COM's?

... until later.

PS. My opinion may change if Westell starts announcing interoperability agreements with some ATU-R vendors.
