Clean,

You can own the LEAP in place of the stock if you want. I personally own stock (margined for greater leverage). However, where I have actually been making the most of my income the past few months is on selling naked puts on the stocks that I decide that I want to add to my portfolio to CC. The stocks keep rising so the PUTs expire and I don't get the stock, and I have to stuff the premiums in my pocket and try again the next month.....
