Hi Pat -

I believe that the phrase "DAVIC-compliant" when referring to FTTC/VDSL
architectures would have to imply 16-CAP or QAM, but the NEC release
never tied the reference to DAVIC with the transmission method. I
believe that they could be using non-transmission related portions of
the DAVIC specifications, but I am not familiar with these at all.

I have no information regarding a partnership between NEC and anyone
that might have a 16-CAP DAVIC VDSL transceiver, I just wanted to
make people aware of the current DAVIC spec for VDSL. Sorry to be
a wet blanket, I'm just cautious by nature.

Good luck on your information search. You seem to be able to dig up
a lot of interesting tidbits!
