Sony's HiFi manufacturing and sales partner, Teac, presently churns out about 95 million floppy drives a year. The intial cost to churn out HiFi drives will be much lower than what Iomaniacs think because a lot of the manufacturing capability is already immediately at hand. In addition, the presently weak Japanese Yen can only serve further to put more $$$ in Sony's pocket through American sales. Unlike Iomega, whose greed is going to ultimately cost them their goal of floppy replacement.
