Sheesh.

I got out a few months ago and been waiting to get back in. What this latest release tells me is that management believes NMBS is worth under $12/share. Even with all the Dyvx and DVD ramp up, even with the various Microsoft agreements, and even with their slated expansions. Not good. Not good at all.

Nor do I think they are shrewd enough to get actively generate a 'feeding frenzy' of potential suitors - at least not as a conscious tactic.

I would suspect the only reason they issued the press release is to keep their noses clean with the SEC. My guess as to why the statement of the actual buy-out number: Probably everyone, even the temp receptionist who started yesterday morning, had heard this number and was trading on it - so they had an obligation to make the information public, or be accused of insider trading.

Well, if nothing else, that was the shortest and most illuminating press release from NMBS in a very long time.
