All: Yesterday's "News article" was indeed biting satire, though the real author thought the ridiculous pretext would instantly prove its false authenticity. So apologies are forwarded to any who felt deceived by the "spoof."

To clarify the author's position:

- ETSI officials are respectful of intellectual property rights.
- Ericsson executives understand the definition of capitalism and free competition.
- In some cases, GSM has a better cost structure than CDMA.
- Even if Ericsson gets into serious legal trouble following its self-serving strategy, Qualcomm will happily charge Ericsson a fair royalty rate for its IPRs.

The author, however, cannot apologize for deception tolerated and dominant in the trade press or congressional hearing transcripts.

Best regards,
Greg
