No, that implies it's about sour grapes. It's a lot more about protection of their economic bloc from a world power just like the government wouldn't like it if they saw someone building a huge army and getting ready to go to war.

WCOM is absolutely right on this. MCI less the internet backbone business is simply a voice company with gobs of ATM on top. The EU is trying to get WCOM to divest assets it already had before. Not real likely.
