In NT, 32-bit apps automatically run in a separate memory
space. In fact, you can't have it otherwise. That's why
the box is checked but grayed out.

You can make choices about 16-bit legacy apps (though I
recommend setting the default to everything in a separate
memory space). It doesn't just APPLY to 16-bit apps; it
is that you don't have a choice EXCEPT for 16-bit apps.

This is not only one of strengths of NT, to my mind it is
THE strength which makes all the other NT frustrations worth
the candle, IMO.
