McData is a very reputable supplier of High End Networking and Systems Connectivity solutions, with a proven track record. Their Director Product is a high availability FC Switch which will scale to high port count numbers within a single switch. The thing to remember about using multiple 16 port switches as fabrics, is that the inter-switch link becomes the throughput bottle neck. The Director is not a Silkworm. Roy Sardina ------- begin forward message ------------ Thomas, Looks like the announcements we have all been waiting for. Craig - you were right. But if you go to the McData web site their Enterprise FC switch stats look surprisingly like the Silkworm's. Roy - can you enlighten us? George D.
