Mr. Hed: First let me say that this will be my only post for some time as I am preparing to leave on an extended business trip in the morning. Up to this point I have never posted on SI or any other communications board, but have been an interested reader over a number of months. A little background prefacing my remarks might be relevant. On a visit to Russia in April of this year I had dinner with two scientists from the Academy of Science, since my background is more in finances, they were kind enough to indulge me and kept our discussion broad based. At that time they mentioned a certain type of mineralization that was being pursued in the southwestern U.S. They were very knowledgeable regarding its nature and the present lack of understanding concerning the chemistry of the mineralization. They apparently are well aware of the potential for precious metals because it directly affects the Russian mining industry, and they have studied them. The conversation sparked my interest from both a scientific perspective and from a financial one. Within a week I had gathered material from the key "desert mineral" players, after reviewing each thoroughly I decided to take a substantial position in one of them. In addition, I have kept abreast of the day to day market activities and shareholder perspectives on all of them in the event that expanding my portfolio with additional "desert mineral" plays might prove advantageous. This means that from time to time I have read through the threads on SI and other electronic media where the subject was actively presented. Finally this brings me to the reason for this message. Impressions...
Let me first acknowledge my awareness of your education and backgroud, this obtained from reading through GPGI messages. However, I question somewhat your motives for presenting yourself as an equivalent authority regarding IPM: my recollection is that you have stated that you do not own any IPM. This relates directly to my purpose for writing "Impressions". After reading the numerous GPGI messages from you, to a mesmerized group of GPGI investors,I ask what is your agenda? Have you set yourself up to be the ultimate authority or scientific arbiter concerning these companies? Do you perform the due diligence on each and everyone that is required to gain even the slightest comprehension of the formidable tasks they individually face? Or, as I truly believe, are you just a disingenuous egocentric interloper seeking self gratification by lording over others with your scientific background. Albeit, just "my" impression.
Sincerely, J. Gordon Rothschild |
