The second point in response from Gary is his explaination why the chart and scan do not agree. The chart uses number of days displayed, the scan the number of days in the ema. I do not understand why he chose the number of days in the ema for the scan. It does not make sense.

Ran some scans today using MACD 5,34,5 crossover. I first scanned the database for common stocks, C>30, market cap & volume criteria to get a smaller group then ran a second scan using the MACD. When I combined the scans I got a slightly different list. The difference is probably due to the same ema problem. Gary told me before that including a test which used a long period would minimize the ema problem. That is not consistant with his latest comment but I am getting differences.

What does it mean? I am using small percentage corrections to one of the ema's when running scans to assure capture of desired stocks. They can then be eliminated when checking charts individually if I am not interested. I still would like QP to fix the problem.
