As you pointed out the partying in India was kinda childish I must admit but considering there is usually very little to celebrate for the common man,sometimes even a doomsday device could invite a bit of celebration rightly or wrongly.

I understand that. However, the point is the people did NOT consider it as some kind of a "doomsday device" that will put an end to their sufferings. The insane dancing was fueled only by a "let's-nuke-them-bastards" attitude, and nothing else.

Sadly, midway through the dancing, the music stopped! And so, we are back to business as usual, until the next item on the agenda -- the temple at Ayodhya/Mathura/Varanasi or cow slaughter or Ganga water or... whatever the rabid RSSS fanatics will cook up next.
