don,

have you kept track of the NYSE new high & new low on corresponding days when indices making lows (or highs) ?

notice 05/27 first time Dow made 8788, new low were 177.
05/28 market rebound, new low were only 60.

06/03 Dow made 8789, new low were only 87.
06/04 Dow made 8749, new low were only 81.

today Dow made 8952 but new low expanded to 147.

I am not convinced oil related issues can fully account for the great expansion of new low, nor the poor breath - A-D is a very poor 995 vs 2039.

so may be in this round it may breach the low end of your range ?

granted, this is the triple witching month plus quarterly window dressing, so things can be more difficult to gauge.

money pile in the defensive sectors, drugs, retailers, anything that largely depends on domestic economy only.
