On a CCSI board at AOL a poster tried to research the medical literature that Asensio asserts goes back for decades, Asensio claiming that CCSI's research is an unoriginal rehash. He went into data bases as far back as 1966. As you might guess, he couldn't find what Asensio claims exists and asked what was going on. I replied as follows:
Hey, if the guy in each one of his several PR releases refers to CCSI as a Bulletin Board stock, he's either (1) utterly unsophisticated about stocks and markets, with the implication that everything else he says is seriously suspect because of the degree of his ignorance, or (2) knowingly fabricating about a relatively minor matter to serve his shorting purposes, with the implication that larger, more significant untruths must exist also. In either case, he seriously lacks credibility to anyone who thinks about it a little. My conclusion is that he made up nonexistent research. In fact, I believe that he's willing to make up almost anything, possibly counting on CCSI, the SEC, and NASD being too wimpy to actually take legal action. And if they do, I'd guess he figures he'll just back down (having pocketed huge profits), tender a few crocodile tears as he claims deeply felt sincerity at the time of his accusations, and simply tap dance away. |
