I think SW Air or Alaska Air or USAIR are very good investments for the
next 2-3 years. Beyond that I would be skeptical. Warren Buffett takes
a long-term view. he is not a trader. The airline industry is a cyclical
business. It is entering a period of profitability, albeit potentially
short term. I bought USAIR at 8, and am hold it at 22. I bought SW Air (LUV)
at 21 3/8 and am holding it here at 25 1/2. I am still looking at Alaska
Air, but like LUV and USAIR better. PS. I would bet Warren Buffett
a few billion that LUV would be a better investment over the next year then
coke. Larry Shapiro
