multimonitors...disabling graphics card built into a mobo.

This may be an option for a friend (Win 95/multimonitor).
His current graphics card is part of the mobo.
He has 3 PCI slots available.

This is where we'll need some help: will we have to
disable the graphics card/mobo combo in order for multimonitors
to work, whether in Win 95 or 98?
If so, do we physically
disable it or through a software (bios) change? I'll need
very simple step-by-step detailed instructions on how to do either one, if anyone is game for it.

He also has an old BIOS, probably 2 years old. Should he upgrade
it and how? (what is a BIOS and what is its function?)

Thanks,
S.W.
