Gee, Duncan, I don't have any problems with defenses against missiles (or asteroids, either). I do believe that everyone with nuclear weapons should get rid of them, however. We will not be able forever to keep them out of the hands of some madman who will destroy everyone on earth with them. In the meantime, sure, I suppose a defensive system makes sense. I do think the United States is disengenuous in trying to keep them out of the hands of all the brown-skinned nations. It seems a little racist or something!! Why cannot everyone just disarm, and have an inspection program to make sure there are absolutely no nuclear weapons left in any country? Did you read the new Vanity Fair article about the Reagans yet? I understand it is very favorable in terms of Ron and Nancy's devotion and love for each other. It was reported in one review of it, however, that Ron Jr. has not spoken to his mother in five years, and is pretty bitter about his childhood. I always thought he was pretty emotionally healthy and well balanced compared to Patti!
