<What are you saying? That they expensed MSN-generated losses as "R&D" because they used MSN as a proving ground for Active-X? That's what it sounds like. Please correct this impression if it is wrong> I can't speak for MSFT, but I know that the DCOM technology was heavily implemented in MSN. The change over to ACtive X was more of a moniker differential than anything else. This is a justifiable R&D expense. I'm sure you can find some legitimate answers if you dig deep enough.
