The wrong symbol can be devastating, I know.

It's important to note that the cboe site does have a symbol section that explains the symbol root for 1998, 1999 etc.

I always double check my "Januarys" by making sure the 1999 one follows the "December" grouping. The 2000 would follow that. Best to use cboe quotes for this, and tscn.com charting has descriptions that include the expiration and strike.
