TV showed Russian cosmonauts and American astronauts affectionately embracing for the last time before closing hatches and flying their spacecraft away from each other. Their joyous attitude didn't just reflect that they were part of an enormous technical achievement but that they felt privileged to be part of something truly noble. Meanwhile on the ground, the Russian Duma balked at ratifying the START II treaty with the USA that would limit each country to a mere 3,500 warheads each. What a contrast. I have to remind myself we are all the same species. Bill Carraway has spent several million dollars and several years of his life to produce a way of converting waste oil to useful products. Meanwhile, our own SEC works to destroy what he did. What a contrast. Charles
