If anybody looking for scraps of good news (I know I am :-) ) --- From Briefing.com 10:30 ET DJIA -47, Nasdaq -4, S&P -3.77: Widespread, but only modest losses at this juncture... Continued weakness in Asian markets and concern that a second half earnings rebound will prove disappointing is keeping a lid on things... Given that were in the heart of the earnings warning period, the defensive mindset is understandable... Should the market emerge from this period without many negative proclamations from major market movers, then sentiment should shift as traders make note of the decisive drop in long-term rates to validate lofty valuations... 30-yr bond +13/32 at 5.67%. Widespread, but only modest losses at this juncture... related to the Bush family???
