The bird SONGS I hear are so few that I am more greatly alarmed than ever. I heard one little guy singing to himself from my neighbors tree, and it is very quiet in this whole town, and so I could hear him crystal clear, and was once again mourning the loss of it. How many thousands did I hear and it was so common I never really heard them? The crows here overpower everything, as I understand they are gbeginning to grow in huge numbers and are now all over. Once was you never, never saw a crow except way out in the fields. I probably only saw crows in the swamp for the first time, and found their cawing rather charming. Now it is like they are sitting all over our houses squawking "repent, the end is here".
